This is a perfect example of a fad.

According to Dictionary.com a fad is a product or idea that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time. It's like a wave that washes over society and seems to permeate the population regardless of socio economic position. The fad quickly reaches a peak and then it disappears -- usually faster then it appeared. That's why you shouldn't rush out and buy 100 of these things in the hopes of making a killing.

If you do want to try selling this item I suggest you start with a small order of 10 or less.
